Sponsored by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST),Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) andco-sponsored by the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Associations,the First World Science and Technology Development Forum (WSTDF) will be heldat Beijing Conference Center on October 16-17, 2019.

WSTDF aims to thoroughly implement President Xi Jinping'sdiplomatic thoughts (particularly the thought of "Building a Communitywith Shared Future for Mankind"), to focus on the in-depth integration ofscience & technology (S&T) withculture, education, economy and society in the era in the context ofS&T revolution and diversified cultures, to broaden the channels ofnon-governmental S&T diplomacy, to facilitate international S&Texchanges, and to build a high-end international S&T cooperation and exchangeplatform in China.

Under the theme of "Science, Technology andDevelopment", WSTDF will bring together academicians from a variety ofcountries, Nobel laureates, fellows of prestigious S&T organizations,university presidents and celebrated entrepreneurs.

The opening ceremony and the main session will be held on themorning of October 16, and 10 prestigious guests will be invited to giveenlightening keynote speeches. In addition to releasing the "Top 10Scientific Challenges Critical to Human Society Development for 2019" andlaunching the "PaddlePaddle Industry-level Deep Learning Open-SourcePlatform", WSTDF will also invite well-known Chinese and foreignuniversity presidents, heads of international S&T organizations andcelebrated entrepreneurs to hold high-level dialogues.

Three parallel sessions will be held on the afternoon of October16, focusing on the topics of "S&T Revolution and IndustrialTransformation", "Science & Technology and Education &Culture" and "Growth of Young Scientists and SMEs". Esteemedscientists, educators and entrepreneurs from home and abroad will also beinvited to hold dialogues and discussions.
